Product Cycle Stage
RoundGlass is a socially conscious, global organization that aims to reshape the journey of wellness and meaningful living through interactive experiences, innovative apps, and engaging content. Their mission is simple but ambitious: to create a vibrant wellness ecosystem by investing in new technologies, sharing knowledge, and ensuring that people are always at the heart of our approach.
RoundGlass Collective is a platform that enables wellbeing communities to engage through content and experiences.
In May 2020, RoundGlass' new branding was unveiled internally and discussions about the platform redesign had already begun. The product and design teams were also made aware that we would be launching RoundGlass as a wellbeing platform where users could purchase a premium subscription. This also meant that we had to merge the corporate website and the collective platform and redesign them as one. We had to rethink the overall navigation and focus on designing for content and a community-centric platform. We also took this as an opportunity to find gaps in the existing experience and work on improving them.
Design Audit : to identify gaps in the existing experience and work out opportunities for improvement.
Competitive analysis : to study existing content, community, and experience-based platforms to find out the best practices.
Create visual explorations and solicit feedback from the product team and our founder to select the best elements from each exploration and combine them to create the foundations for our style guide.
Outcome from design audit :
Key Focus Areas for the redesign based on our research and discussions with the product team :
Users should be able to easily navigate between different collectives and content pages.
Content pages should be visually appealing and provide a great user experience.
Incorporate the new RoundGlass branding elements into the new design. The overall aesthetic of the platform should be modern and appealing.
The touchpoints for users to enter the signup or subscription purchase flow should be easy to discover.
Surface options for "bookmark", "like", "follow" etc. to encourage user engagement.
Define a design system in Sketch for the collective platform to keep our visual language consistent, and work with the engineering team to solidify the design system into reusable React components.
The Home page showcases the RoundGlass collectives and the content generated within them. This page is heavily curated and intended to be updated daily for returning users.
The navigation has quick links for users to explore RoundGlass collectives and content list pages.
The listing page is divided into sections to help users explore the content.
Collective pages have a left menu that contains links to navigate within a collective.
The user feed has been redesigned to make better use of the real estate and help users quickly navigate to their collectives and discover more on our platform.
